Bariloche is situated next to Lago Nahuel Huapi surrounded by beautiful mountains.

Almost always strong wind dominates the region in spring...

Following pictures were taken during a hike to
Refugio Frey at La Catedral and the return over a ridge:

Interesting landscape after obviously a fire in the forest

But fortunately not all forest is as dry as the one on the previous photo: lush green...

...and obviously a lot of rainfall make trees grow tall.

After climbing for 2 1/2 hours we reach Refugio Frey:
in the background almost hidden by clouds: summit La Catedral

From now on the trail is covered by snow!
